Salary Range: Based on experience $13.00-$15.00

Position Description:
Under the direction of the Arts & Humanities Coordinator, the Drama/Musical Theatre Instructor will supervise participants and organize drama/musical theatre classes for youth ages 4-20 years old. Assist with the development of specific acting curriculum with definite goals with measurable outcomes. Take responsibility for providing quality fine arts programming with continued growth.

In addition, be able to provide a safe and positive experience for all participants in the drama/musical theatre classes. Provide frequent interaction with members, class participants and parents/guardians of class participants. All of the staff time is spent directly with class participants in an instructional environment.

Qualifications:
This position requires a commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring as well as a commitment to building developmental assets in adults and youth. Additionally, this candidate should value diversity, youth, teens and have a broad vision of health and wellness, which is enhanced by relationship building.

Must have First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain 30 days after hire. At least 2 years of drama or related experience working with children in the drama/musical theatre field that is being applied for (i.e. basic stage direction, assist with choreography; teach vocal parts and blocking etc). It is not necessary to have all skills but dance/choreography experience and/or piano skills are a plus. Responsible and dependable adult at least 18 years old with ability to supervise participants and organize daily lesson plans.

Activities Offered:
Musical Theatre/Drama classes consisting of improvisation, basic acting skills, vocal music and/or choreography, stage direction and stage craft. .
