Incumbents perform a variety of difficult and complex sub-professional engineering staff work including design assistance, drafting work, and research studies. They also assist the professional engineering staff in civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, or instrumentation technical support. Incumbents may also be responsible for completing administrative assignments as needed.
Incumbents are typically responsible for an ongoing project or program or for providing lead direction in the implementation of systems with program or function wide impact. Incumbents may also provide lead direction and exercise control over the work of other assigned staff where the work requirements are well defined and a volume of past practices and precedents exist.
