October / November Performances from BATS Improv Theatre

Fridays and Saturdays, 8:00-9:45pm, October 2 through November 28, San Francisco

MORE INFO: http://www.improv.org/Box-Office/Performance-Schedule.aspx

October 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, and November 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21
The "Clash of the Heroes Theatresports Tournament" is a three-round improv competition in which two teams square off each night and perform improvised games, songs, or scenes based on audience suggestions. Judges award points and designate each night's winning team, which advances to the next round. The two finalists play on Saturday, November 21.

October 23/24: BATS vs. Stanford Improvisers (SImps) / Special Guests
Friday: BATS and SImps go head to head in their annual Theatresports grudge match to win the much-sought-after bat-and-chicken trophy. The Stanford Improvisors (aka The SImps) are Stanford University's only improv ensemble. The ensemble performs Theatresports and Long-Form throughout the year in theaters and other venues in and around the university.

Saturday: A joyous reunion between BATS Improv's main stage Company members, BATS alumni, and other veteran improvisers creating scenes and songs.

October 30/31: True Fiction Magazine
BATS Improv welcomes special guest troupe True Fiction Magazine, one of the San Francisco's most exciting Long-Form improvisation companies. Originally inspired by the over-blown passions of 1930s and 1940s pulp novels, TFM pushes improvised theatre to new heights, taking the audience on a wild ride into unknown territory that titillates the senses and blows the mind. Expect these talented actors to weave in some spooky Halloween themes.

November 27/28: Family Drama
The family drama format takes the form of a traditional three-act stage play--the story unfolds in real time, in one location, with each actor playing only one character. The improvisers know that a family of some kind is getting together for a meal, but the characters, plot, and dialogue will be created right there on the spot. NOTE: While the story is completely improvised, if past Family Drama shows are any indication, the show may contain adult themes.
