Artist Darlene Boyd is offering gemstone carving classes at TOPS A Rock Shop in San Juan Bautista, CA. 831-623-4441. Darlene is an accomplished artist. The class will begin by using Soapstone as the carving medium. Then the students can advance to harder gemstones at their own speed.
Each class is $25.00. Supplies are available at TOPS, but feel free to bring your own if you have them.
The classes are the 3rd Wednesday from 6 - 8 pm and the 3 Saturday from 10 - 12 noon. Call for more information and reservations.
San Juan Bautista is 45 minutes south of San Jose. Make a day of it by visiting the State Historic Park, going star gazing at the Fremont State Park Observatory, walking the deAnza trail, touring the Mission San Juan Bautista, taking a walking historic tour, browing through the art galleries, or having lunch or dinner at one of the many fine restaurants.
