Position Title: Child Care Teacher - 32003
Hiring Range: $12.00 – $14.00 per hour – depending on experience
Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt – 20 hours per week – Monday through Friday
2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Branch: Southwest YMCA – YMCA @ Farnham Elementary School
Position Description:
Come to the Southwest YMCA and be apart of making a difference in children’s lives through our licensed Child Care program for school age kids. Under the direction of the Center Director, the teacher plans and implements daily activities for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. YMCA @ Farnham Elementary School has 60- 65 children attending each day.
Qualifications:
This position requires a commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring as well as a commitment to building developmental assets in adults and youth. Additionally, this candidate should value diversity, youth, teens and have a broad vision of health and wellness, which is enhanced by relationship building.
Fully qualified teachers are required to have a minimum of 12 semester units in ECE or related subjects (including but not limited to Child Development, Psychology, Sociology) completed. A minimum of 1 year experience working with children in an organized program is highly recommended and a minimum age of 18 is required. All new employees must have Livescan fingerprints and child abuse index check prior to hire, as well as, have a medical/TB exam completed within 3 days of employment.
