Performs a wide variety of professional library work involving reference services, library collections development, and services for children and young adults in both a main library and neighborhood library setting. Requires M.L.S. or MLIS degree from a library school accredited by the American Library Association. Desired qualifications include: one year of professional library experience, knowledge of computer-based information resources and applications in a public library; good customer service skills; good public speaking skills; self-starter with initiative and enthusiasm to work on on-going projects and understanding of the Dewey Decimal System.
The successful candidate will also have a flexible schedule of availability to include weekends, evenings and/or on-call work.
