The first picture shows me and the contractor who hired me (Bill Haze of Full Service Carpentry 510 864-9936)
These pictures show me first breaking out the existing stucco in order to prepare the wall for correct paper waterproof barrier. New paper must overlap existing to properly waterproof.
Next we apply two layers of grade D building paper with 17 gage wire set with 1 ½ crown staples. After lath we fuse the paper to all openings such as windows, doors, and light outlets with a polyurethane caulking (Silkeflex).
Finally I apply two coat of stucco using Eisenwall rapid set stucco. I am an approved certified applicator of this product. If you use this product you really have to know what you are doing, not recommended for guys with just a few years experience.
Last picture shows me feathering in the new stucco to the old. When done properly one should not notice the difference after it is painted. I do this so often it’s fun.
